(1.5 Hour Slip)
I was reading the second book of Harry Potter last night. I was planning to sleep at 1 a.m. but instead it kept me up until 2:30 a.m., when I knew that if I didn't put it down I would slip again. But stil, I woke up at 7 a.m. instead of 5:30 a.m. It is funny how it was exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes slip.

Reset the Counter
Here I am, my first slip. I slipped before but never like this one. I cannot remember exactly what happened, but I think I stopped the alarm and went straight back to sleep. I am not really surprised, though, because last night I pushed myself too hard. First I pushed the 5 p.m. nap to 7 p.m., after the workout. Then when I woke up from 10:30 p.m. nap, my eyes were all red. Normally, I would do a 4 hours and 30 minutes core sleep to recover. But I was just two chapters to finish Harry Potter. Instead I stayed up until 3:30 a.m., way past my sleep time. It is funny how reading can keep me awake, while almost all the people tell me that reading puts them to sleep.

Day 1
I am starting the counter again because I switched to 3 hours core sleep again. I am now pretty sure that I can do it with 4 hours and 30 minutes but I really want to try to push it. As indicated by other posts, one needs 20 days or so to get used to it so it is worth trying.

Of course, the morning is horrible. I was so sleepy that I just didn't want to get up. I finally figured out how to stay up at night, by reading books (Harry Potter these days). But the getting up is very hard. The only way I know is to do those stretches with my eyes closed. I don't know if this is considered cheating, though.

There is really nothing much to talk about it for today. Got up at 6 a.m. after some struggling. Took nap at regular time (well, sort of). It is always hard around evening.

9:00 a.m. -- 9:30 a.m.
1:40 p.m. -- 2:10 p.m.
7:30 p.m. -- 8:00 p.m. I sort of did this on purpose to see if I could fall asleep. I think I need to try to shift the nap time around

Stop the Counter (Return of the Uberman)
I don't think the counter makes more sense now, because I have been acting like a monophasic man for the last several days. Well, you cannot blame me, at least not fully. Lian was here and I just wanted to show her around as many places as possible. If I were already converted fully into polyphasic sleep schedule, I might have been able to stick to it. But now with all the driving I had to do, I just didn't dare.

So for those who are really watching this, I am really sorry to let you down.

However, I had to get up at 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning for Lian to catch the plane. And we weren't able to get home on Saturday night until after midnight. So I had only three hours sleep. I used it as a chance to get back to the schedule. Although I slept in the car for more than 2 hours on Sunday morning after seeing Lian off (sorry but I was just toooo sleepy to go anywhere in my car), I was able to take a nap around 6 p.m. (in the movie theater) and 9 p.m. (at home).

Slept from 1 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. last night. I was too sleepy so I decide to sleep a one and half hour more to make up for some of the sleep loss.

(1:57 p.m.) Forgot to say that I got a eye mask. It works great.

9:00 a.m. -- 9:20 a.m. Slept and woke up by the phone. I need to switch the phones off.
1:20 p.m. -- 1:50 p.m. Slept. I felt pretty sleepy. A little sleep inertia.
4:50 p.m. -- 5:20 p.m. Slept in the end
9:20 p.m. -- 9:50 p.m. Unsuccessful. I think I need to do something about it
