Yes yes yes, I know I haven't been able to update the logs. I am attending two classes and working full time with deadline coming up, what do you think?

However, I do have good news now. I switched back a little bit because of all the work I have to do. So now I am more like a quasi-monophasic than semi-polyphasic, I go to sleep between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., get up at 6:00 a.m. (at least trying to, ha!). I take only two naps, one around 2 p.m. and one around 10 p.m. and I feel pretty normal, with about two hours extra time. Two hours might not look that much, but that is exactly what I need to prepare for class, go to class, read text book every day and still keep my working schedule. This is pretty encouraging and now I am more willing to see if I can shorten my core sleep. But that'll be after I am done with this semester of course.

The reason that I am not taking nap every hours is actually because I discovered that it is too many naps with 4.5 hours core sleep. For like a week I keep on getting constant headaches. So I couldn't nap very well because of them. Then I though the headach came from lack of sleep during my naps, so I tried very hard to force me into sleep during the nap. But it is pretty hard and I was still getting headaches. This kept on going until one day I have to finish some assignment before the class. I felt fine around 9 a.m. and I really had to finish the assignment, so I skipped the nap instead of forcing myself to sleep. Then I found out that I don't really need that nap and my nap at 2 p.m. was very effective because I was actually tired by then. Figure that.

Haven't been updating my log for quite a few days. Work has finally caught up to me and I had to finish it before the deadline.

After the pathetic failure during the weekend, I am trying to shift my core sleep to as early as possible. Ideally I'll move it to 5 p.m. so that I can go work out in the gym. And even if I turn out to be too sleepy to do anything, I have the whole night to recover or crash, rather than risk a day at work.

10:16 p.m. -- 3:00 a.m. Core sleep
5:00 a.m. -- 5:30 a.m. Nap
9:00 a.m. -- 9:30 a.m. Nap
1:10 p.m. -- 1:40 p.m. Nap

I have been trying to go pure polyphasic for the last several days. But this has been proved to be very hard. Everytime around 3 a.m. to 5 a.m., I would be so sleepy that I would crash. I tried to play some game during those hours and I'd close my eyes when the movie is playing and fell right into sleep.

Maybe a good way should be move my core sleep hours to the daytime and try to walk around.

(9:29 a.m.) Tried to stay up last night. By 4:30 a.m. I felt very sleepy so I went to bed and got up at 5 a.m. Came out to the living room and popped in a game hoping to keep myself awake. But when you are sleepy, you can lose interest in anything. So I couldn't stand it anymore and fell asleep in the chair. Woke up around 6:30 a.m., tried to stay awak again and failed. Fell right back to sleep and slept until 8 a.m. So now I am tired but I still cannot take the 9 a.m. nap.

I think it must be because I missed my training classes in the gym lately because of work.

I am getting a little bit lazy lately. I'd say that this sleeping schedule is working in a way that nowadays I enjoy my sleep a lot better. I am not saying that I am enjoying it because I feel sleepy all day and always need rest. Instead, I stay awake as much as I did before. But I sleep better now. I don't lie in bed and worry and not able to sleep any more.

But something happened in the work made me really not to get up early in the morning and go to the office, especially yesterday. I think it is because for the past one week I have been using the extra time on my work without knowning it. So now I need to watch it so that I really spend time on the things that I NEVER had chance to do. Since I always have chance to do my work, I don't think it qualify at all.

1:30 a.m. -- 6:30 a.m. Core sleep

Did reboot last night. Slept for 8 hours and 30 minutes. It is funny now that I feel somewhat guilty when getting up after 9 a.m., because I am now so used to getting some job done before 10 a.m.

2:00 a.m. -- 10:30 a.m. Reboot

Skipped all the nap last night and went to bed at 3:00 a.m. Beer defenitely does affect your sleep because I am sleepy all day today and I had to take an extra nap. It is interesting how I am accustomed to take a short nap when I feel tired.

3:00 a.m. -- 9:00 a.m. Long core sleep.
10:00 a.m. -- 10:30 a.m. Nap
5:00 p.m. -- 5:30 p.m. Nap
